Schema JSON-LD Generator

Choose a schema type, fill in the form and copy a ready-to-paste script tag of type application/ld+json. The tool checks required fields and builds valid JSON, but structured data does not guarantee rich results: Google decides what to show. Test the output with Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator.

Runs in your browser

Free, no sign-up. The markup is built in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, stored or sent to analytics, and nothing is placed in the page URL.

Describes your company. Usually placed once, on the home page.

Social or directory profiles that are really yours.

JSON-LD

Paste this into the page's HTML. Markup must describe content visible on the page. Valid markup does not promise rich results.

How to use the Schema JSON-LD Generator

  1. Pick a type: Organization, LocalBusiness, Article, Product, BreadcrumbList, FAQPage or SoftwareApplication.
  2. Fill in the fields. Required fields are flagged; leave optional ones empty and they are omitted.
  3. Fix any validation messages shown above the output.
  4. Copy or download the script tag and place it in the head or body of the matching page.
  5. Check it with the Rich Results Test (search.google.com/test/rich-results) and validator.schema.org before publishing.

Worked example

Sample data

Input
Type: Organization
Name: Acme
URL: https://acme.example
Same as: https://x.com/acme
Output
<script type="application/ld+json">
{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "Organization",
  "name": "Acme",
  "url": "https://acme.example",
  "sameAs": [
    "https://x.com/acme"
  ]
}
</script>

Empty optional fields are dropped. Any less-than sign in values is escaped as \u003c so text cannot close the script tag.

How it works

What JSON-LD does

JSON-LD is a way to describe a page's entities (organisation, article, product) in a script block that search engines and other parsers can read without changing what visitors see. The vocabulary comes from schema.org.

No promise of rich results

Valid markup makes a page eligible for enhanced display only where a search engine supports it and its policies are met. Google may ignore markup or show nothing special.

FAQPage is a clear example: Google now shows FAQ rich results only for a limited set of well-known government and health sites, so most sites will not see them even with valid markup. The data can still describe the page for other consumers.

Product output does not include ratings or reviews. Only add review or rating markup if it reflects real, visible reviews on the page.

Validation in this tool

It checks that required fields for the chosen type are present, that URLs are full http(s) addresses where expected, and that list items such as FAQ questions are complete. It does not check Google's eligibility rules; use the official testing tools for that.

Inputs, outputs and limits

Inputs

  • Schema type
  • Type-specific fields
  • Repeatable items (FAQ questions, breadcrumb levels, sameAs links)

Outputs

  • JSON-LD in a script type application/ld+json tag
  • Validation messages
  • Copy and download

Limits

  • Seven common types only; many schema.org types and properties are not covered.
  • Validates required fields, not search-engine eligibility.
  • Does not read or test a live URL.
  • Does not produce ratings, reviews or aggregateRating.

Processing

  • The markup is built in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, stored or sent to analytics, and nothing is placed in the page URL.

Frequently asked questions

Will this give me rich results in Google?

Not by itself. Structured data can make a page eligible, but Google decides whether to show enhancements. Test with the Rich Results Test and follow Google's guidelines.

Does Google still show FAQ rich results?

Only for a limited set of sites, mainly well-known government and health authorities. Most sites will not get FAQ rich results, though the markup is still valid schema.org.

Where do I put the script tag?

In the head or body of the page the data describes. It can sit anywhere in the document.

Why no star ratings for Product?

Ratings must reflect real reviews shown on the page. The tool does not generate them so you cannot add invented ones by accident.

Is my data uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser and none of it is sent to analytics or placed in URLs.
